Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal termed the 2023-24 budget as ‘poor-friendly’. He said, there is no special pressure, there is continuity in this year’s budget to keep the economic development dynamic.
He said these about the budget in response to questions from journalists on the eve of the journey from his home in Gulshan in the capital to Jatiya Sangsad Bhavan.
He said that the budget has been fixed for everyone, and Social Security is getting bigger.
In the afternoon, AHM Mustafa Kamal will present the budget of 761,000 crores taka in the National Parliament. The government has set a target of achieving a growth rate of 7.5 percent in the new financial year. The inflation rate there is 6.5 percent. The finance minister expects that the total investment target will exceed 33 percent of GDP in the next financial year.
A revenue target of 5 lakh crore has been set in the budget. The budget deficit may be 2 lahks 61 thousand 785 crores taka.
