Four people, including three siblings, were crushed to death under a train at the Kundurpur union in Nilphamari Sadar Upazila.
The accident took place at the Bou Bazar railway station area of the union on Wednesday morning.
Railway Police OC Abdur Rahman Bishwas confirmed the matter.
The deceased were identified as Shamim Hossain, 30, Leena, 8, Mina, 7, and Mominur Rahman, 4, of Kundurpur union in Sadar Upazila.
It has been reported that Shamim was killed while trying to save three children. He was the lineman there.
Citing locals, Railway Police Station OC Abdur Rahman Biswas said the three children were playing on the railway line. Seeing the Khulna Mail train coming at that time, Shamim tried to save them. However, all four were crushed to death under the train.
